Reverend & Mrs. John Sanders in 1897. Reverend Sanders was the first ordained priest of native descent in North America. He died in Biscotasing in 1902.

William Draper, affectionately known as 'Old Bill' was a colourful character who boxed and ran ivory out of the Congo before arriving in Canada in the early 1900s.
He worked for the Department of Lands & Forests from 1911 to 1949.
